Job Summary
This position will work with a team that is responsible for the full lifecycle development and support of daily operations of the I.T. network infrastructure. The team is looking for a candidate that has the aptitude for a wide variety of responsibilities that enjoys a dynamic and challenging environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for network routers, switches, firewalls
- Plan and recommend designs to improve the existing network environment
- Provide analysis of network capacity and health
- Administration of the corporate firewall infrastructure
- Implement networking best practices and standards throughout the infrastructure
- Setup and administration of LaserJet and Zebra printers and associated print queues
- Create documentation (to include Visio diagrams)
- Participate in managing support tickets through a ticket management system
- Escalate critical issues to manager in a timely manner
- Asset and vendor management
- Coordinate technical implementation with business stakeholders
- Ability to work after hours and participate in on-call coverage as needed
Technical Requirements:
- 10+ year’s hands-on technical experience, including:
- 5+ years design and implementation of enterprise network, firewall technologies
- 5+ years Cisco routers, switches, wireless
- 5+ years Palo Alto firewall
- DNS, DHCP and IP addressing and management
- Remote access technologies (SSL, IPSec) and site-to-site VPN
- Wireless networks, controllers and access points including Cisco products
- WAN provisioning and optimization
- Network/system monitoring and troubleshooting
- Telephony/VOIP systems
- Network Skills: TCP/IP, routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, IPSec VPN), Layer2/3 switching and VLAN configuration, Firewall security policy
- Familiar with authentication services: Radius, TACACS/TACACS+, 802.1x
- Zebra printers
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds a plus
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communications skills
Functional Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills to effectively work with all members of the team, a must
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interpreting and conveying IT’s policies in situations requiring judgment and persuasion are required
- Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team in planning, designing, acquisition, configuration and implementation of complex systems
- Provide on-call support of critical applications and may coordinate on call response efforts with other IT team members as needed
